After more than a decade leading IMBA?s Government Affairs department, Jenn Dice will join the staff of Bikes Belong in February 2013 as Vice President of Government Relations. Dice will direct a new Bikes Belong project, the Bohm Strategy Center, which will create a strategic repository of information on bicycling businesses, key contacts, allies and supporters in all 50 states. She will also lead Bikes Belong?s D.C. lobbying team and government relations program.

?Jenn is dynamic, smart and focused,? said Bikes Belong president Tim Blumenthal, who originally hired Dice to work at IMBA when he was that organization?s executive director. ?She will help Bikes Belong and bicycling become more politically effective. She, and everyone at Bikes Belong, will also continue to work closely in partnership with IMBA on key trail access and trail building opportunities.?

Dice joins an accomplished Bikes Belong management team that includes Blumenthal, Senior Vice President Bruno Maier, Vice President of Finance Erik Esborg, Vice President of Strategic Planning Ivette Rivera and Green Lane Project Director Martha Roskowski.

According to IMBA Executive Director Mike Van Abel, mountain bikers have much to thank Dice for?and good reason to believe that trail enthusiasts will continue to benefit from her efforts. ?Jenn?s accomplishments since joining the staff in 2001 are too numerous to recount,? said Van Abel. ?Although she?s leaving IMBA?s staff, I?m confident that we will be working side by side for many years to come.?

During her tenure at IMBA, Dice and the IMBA Government Affairs team secured partnership agreements with the National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service, and furthered IMBA?s work with Congress and national coalition partners. She led IMBA?s efforts for more and better mountain bicycling in National Parks, testified in front of congressional committees, and harnessed the power of the recreation movement for conservation initiatives.

Last November, Dice was named to Outside Magazine?s power list of the top 25 people who influence the world outside.

Bikes Belong?s new Bohm Strategy Center is named for long-time Bikes Belong board member and political visionary Leslie Bohm. The information gathered by the Bohm Center will be used to maximize the effectiveness of political campaigns, special events, and fundraising efforts that make bicycling safer and more appealing. The Bohm Center, which will be based in Bikes Belong?s Colorado headquarters, will serve as bicycling?s war room and its resources will be made available to Bikes Belong?s partners and allies.

In her new Bikes Belong government relations role, Dice and her supporting staff will work with members of Congress, the administration, key federal agencies such as the Departments of Transportation and Interior, and national bicycling organizations?including IMBA?who have been the organization?s time-tested partners.

Dice previously worked as a lobbyist for city and county governments and as a press director for both the Colorado state House and Senate. A graduate of the University of South Dakota and the School of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Kansas, Dice is an enthusiastic bike rider. She has completed the famous Leadville 100 mountain bike race 13 times. She was part of a group that made the first mountain bike descent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Professionally, she is a long-time member of the Coalition of Recreational Trails, Outdoor Alliance and the America Bikes Coalition.
