Who needs this stretch?

Musicians, artists, cyclists, chefs, hairstylists, typists, computer programmers, tennis players and people who use their hands a lot.

Hand Stretch

  • Extend your arm out in front of you.
  • Spread your fingers out as far as you can, getting as much extension in your fingers as possible while pushing your palm out.
  • Hold this for 10 seconds.

Wrist Extensors

  • Extend right arm in front of you, palm down
  • Create a fist by curling your fingers into your palm and placing your fingers over your thumb.
  • Flex your fist down towards the ground, applying downward pressure with your other hand to help open the back of the hand and stretch the extensors (top side of forearm) and the wrist.
  • Hold this stretch for 10 seconds.

Wrist Flexors

  • With your right arm still extended, turn your palm up, and extend your fingers toward the ground.
  • Reach with your left hand, using it to apply pressure to the right hand helping to open the palm and stretch the flexors (inside of your forearm) of the wrist and forearm.
  • Hold this stretch for 10 seconds.

Note: If you feel pain during the exercise, discontinue until checking with a professional.
