Daily Kos: Housing Recovery is CRUSHING IT under Obama's ...

From ABC News h/t @theplumlineGS

The housing market is revving up and gaining strength in some parts of the country. Average US home prices rose 1.3 percent in the third quarter ? the biggest quarterly gain since 2006, according to the third quarter Zillow Real Estate Market Reports.
I don't get excited about rising home prices the way I do about declining unemployment, but that's probably because I don't own, but rent instead, and the Dems will ultimately be judged based on the improving employment rate since we're already crushing it in foreign policy.

Continues Forbes (new article):

Looking at new construction starts, existing home sales and the foreclosure plus delinquency rate, the housing market is now 43% back to normal ? a new post-crisis high!

[snip]

Averaging these three back-to-normal percentages together, the housing market is now 43% of the way back to normal ? compared with 42% in August and 24% in September 2011. ?For the second month in a row, the Housing Barometer is at a post-crisis high.

Stock market investors are already putting their strategies together, floating the idea that "the recovery could be about to kick into second gear". ?And The Atlantic had a great piece just last week discussing what happens next in the housing recovery that's definitely well under way.

The needle is definitely moving, folks. ?We are going to start "feeling it" within the next year or so, and I'm hopeful that it will be a crash wave of fresh economic goodness right as the country expands its commitment to civil liberties (e.g., gay marriage equality passes the SCOTUS test) and the social contract (e.g., Obamacare kicks in at full steam in 2014).

It's good to be (getting!) back!

GOTMFV.
